    Crystal Rosario

    CO-PRESIDENT

    Parent to a rising fifth-grader, second-grader, kindergartner, Crystal has served as VP for Events and VP of Room Parent Engagement in the past. She has extensive experience in many volunteer roles within the school and looks forward to continuing the Board’s efforts to foster a sense of community and inclusivity at Hyde-Addison.

    Farrell Barnes Quigley

    CO-PRESIDENT

    Parent to a rising fifth-grader and second-grader, she has served as PTA Co-VP for Communications and Marketing and Secretary in the past. She looks forward to continuing her work to re-engage the school community, streamline PTA processes, and develop a plan we can build upon in the years to come.

    Toi Makings

    CO-VICE PRESIDENT

    Parent to a graduating fifth-grader and a rising third grader (and a new baby boy!), she has been a proud member of the Hyde community since 2017! During that time, she has been PTA Co-VP and played an active role on several PTA committees. She is looking forward to serving and engaging with Hyde’s community of neighbors, staff, parents, and children for another year!

    Emerald Christopher

    CO-VICE PRESIDENT

    Parent to a rising second-grader, she continues to be impressed by the community the PTA has cultivated. Building on her work as VP for AfterCare and Enrichment this year, Emerald is excited about the possibility of contributing to the Hyde-Addison community while fostering the ongoing collaboration with parents, educators, staff, and the community.

    Alexis George

    TREASURER

    Alexis has been a proud Hyde-Addison parent since 2022. Given her background in wealth management, she is prepared to take on the role of PTA Treasurer. Her experience with cash management, reporting, and risk mitigation brings valuable skills to this role. She is excited to support the PTA’s goals and initiatives and looks forward to collaborating with her fellow Hyde parents.

    Gelila Getaneh

    SECRETARY

    Parent to a rising first-grader, Gelila is excited to build on her current role as PTA Secretary. Having been actively involved in various school activities and events, she is passionate about contributing further to the school community. She looks forward to the opportunity to serve the Hyde community in this capacity and to work collaboratively with fellow Board members to support our students and families.

    Motrya Hanas Calafiura

    CO-VP FOR EXTENDED CARE PROGRAMS

    The parent of a rising third-grader, Motrya has proudly served on the PTA as Co-VP for Communications and Marketing for the past three years. In her new role, she is excited to help coordinate and oversee high-quality after-school programs, connect families with enrichment opportunities, and ensure a welcoming, engaging environment for all Hyde-Addison students and parents. She is deeply committed to serving as a reliable resource for both new and returning parents, fostering a sense of inclusion, support, and collaboration within the school community.

    Divya Swamy

    CO-VP FOR EXTENDED CARE PROGRAMS

    Parent to a rising second grader, Divya has been extremely impressed by the PTA's dedication to building community, the fun activities it organizes, and its support of Hyde-Addison's students and staff. She has been a room parent and has volunteered with many PTA events. She is looking foward to enhancing the already impressive enrichment and before/aftercare options.

    Chelsea Nair

    VP FOR COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING

    The parent of a rising first grader and an incoming kindergartener, Chelsea is an active member of the Hyde-Addison community. She is deeply committed to our school’s mission and core values. She is passionate about strengthening communication not only with current families, but also with prospective families, incoming students and the broader community.

    Tami Twyman

    VP FOR EVENTS

    Parent to a graduating fifth-grader, a rising fourth-grader, and a rising second-grader; and having served as PTA Co-VP of Events for the past two years, Tami has been instrumental in planning the annual Gala fundraiser, and overseeing new events like the school-wide lemonade stand and the Parent-Hosted Parties series. She looks forward to continuing her work to bring more families together with more community events, while helping the school achieve their yearly budget goals.

    Chris Borales

    VP FOR FUNDRAISING

    Parent to a rising fourth grader, and a graduating fifth grader, he is in his second year as VP for Fundraising. He is looking forward to working with parents, teachers and the community to raise funds for the school to make a lasting impact in the lives of our children. He believes that these efforts not only strengthen our school, but also fosters a sense of belonging and unity within our community.

    Sonja Danburg

    CO-VP FOR ROOM PARENT ENGAGEMENT

    Parent of a rising fourth-grader and graduating fifth-grader, she has been a room parent for the past 3 years and Co-VP for Room Parents on the PTA Board for the last two years. Sonja is focused on connecting parents to their classrooms and teachers to foster a vibrant school community and loves helping to bring joy and support to every classroom at Hyde-Addison.

    Kate Fisher

    CO-VP FOR ROOM PARENT ENGAGEMENT

    Parent of two rising fourth-graders, Kate loves the school community and hopes to help it flourish by supporting the PTA. Building on her experience as a room parent over the years and as a PTA co-VP for the last two years, she looks forward to continuing to bridge the gap between the classroom and home to ensure the teachers are supported and the kids have fun.

    Dr. Calvin Hooks

    SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

    Dr. Hooks has been a part of the Hyde-Addison community since 2018, bringing years of experience as both a teacher and school administrator. His steady leadership, deep understanding of education and commitment to fostering an inclusive and student-centered environment have made him a trusted partner to the PTA. He plays a key role in bridging the work of school leadership and the Hyde-Addison parent community—helping ensure that our shared efforts reflect the values of equity, collaboration and academic excellence.

    Ms. Kathryn Roth

    5th Grade Teacher

    Mrs. Roth has been a part of the Hyde-Addison community since 2005. A native Washingtonian, she began her teaching career in DCPS is 2002. She currently teaches 5th Grade math, social studies and science. 

    Mrs. Roth has been a PTA teacher representative for over 15 years. She looks forward to working with families again this year.

    Ms. Marie Connolly

    Specialist Team, School Librarian

    Ms. Connolly has been a member of the Hyde-Addison community since 2011.  She has served as a classroom teacher, a reading, social studies, and science specialist before becoming the school Librarian.  Ms. Connolly is a published author and knitwear designer.  She looks forward to another wonderful year of working with the PTA and our Hyde-Addison families.
