Hyde-Addison PTA’s largest annual fundraising initiative, the Great Envelope Race, launches September 1st each year with a goal of raising $50,000 and achieving 100% family participation by its closing on October 31st. Let’s reach the finish line together—thank you for fueling the heart of Hyde-Addison!

Why We Do It:

DCPS funds only cover part of the school’s operating budget. Each year, the Hyde-Addison PTA raises money to help close this gap. This campaign functions similarly to an annual fund or traditional PTA dues and is a critical source of support. Donations collected through the GER fund field trips, classroom enrichment, teacher appreciation, and community events—resources and experiences that help every student thrive.

The suggested contribution is $400 per student—but this is not required. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a difference. What matters most is participation, and we invite each family to give in a way that feels meaningful and manageable for them.
